The dataset includes three types of files with same
data: ASCII file; "dbf" file; and "mdb" file.And they
have same data with different file format.
Stations distribution map is the "bmp"
stations with snow.bmp
The readme files of stations includes three types of
files with same content: ASCII file; "dbf" file, and
"mdb" file.And they have same data with file different format.
In order to make these data be used more convenient and flexible, we
made three types of formats about the datasets, including "ASCII"(".txt"),
"dbf", and "mdb". The "dbf" format can be opened by Visual Forpro 6.0
software, while "mdb" format can be opened by Microsoft Access software
which is one of Office software series. Any file format has a same data
format design just as following:
"station_id" (the station ID, e.g. 56041);
"yyyymmdd" (the date, e.g. 19981023);
"depth" (snow depth, e.g. 2.00 the unit is cm);
"press" (snow press, e.g. 3.00 the unit is cm).
For the value of depth and press, "0.00" presents zero snow; "-1.00"
presents no snow; and "9999.00" presents no data.
Additionally, there are some explain files:
the first is the distribution maps of the meteorological stations,
including the snow-dataset stations and frozen soil-dataset stations,
respectively. The extend of file is "bmp".
On the other hand, we give every station's information in detail, the
format can be presented as:
"station name"(e.g. Dawu);
"longitude"(the unit is degree, e.g. 90.12);
"latitude"(the unit is degree, e.g. 30.12);
"elevation"(the unit is meter, e.g. 3819.10);
"from":the begining time of the available data (e.g. 197505);
"to":the end time of the available data (e.g. 199912);
"DEMO1" (an optional field, the value is text).
"DEMO2" (an optional field, the value is text).
